Round 4, Day 9

There are three parts to a successful path to fitness: nutrition, sleep, and exercise.

Lately, I have been falling down on nutrition and sleep and that is making exercise more difficult than it needs to be.

It was tough this morning, after staying up late to watch the Patriots trounce the Jets and eating so late at night, to boot.

Time to get back on track to see the results that I want!

Tough workout this morning, the sound of the 90 km/hr winds and driving rain woke me up about a dozen times last night. Hopefully, tomorrow will feel better.

Round 4, Day 6

Kenpo Karate. I find it tough to stay in my cardio range with this routine during the kick and blocks sections. I end up going much faster than the DVD and not stopping between moves. I actually find the "breaks" in this workout are good to raise my heartrate!

Anyway, Week 1 is almost over. I feel better than the start of the week and I am looking forward to seeing the differences after the first phase.

Round 4, Day 5

Legs & Back. Did it after work because I slept in a bit this morning and ended up not having enough time to do the routine before work.

I went to point of exhaustion on almost all of the 300+ leg exercises and over 4 minutes of static leg holds.

I also completed a total 114 pull-ups.

Recovery drink tasted so good.

Someone must have raised the height of the stairs in my house while I was working out!

Round 4, Day 4

Yoga today. I found it hard to clear my mind today and be "in the moment" as Tony suggests during this workout. My triceps are still sore from the cumulative amount of work over the past 4 days, which is a distraction. I enjoyed the last part of the routine; I think I need to spend some time just breathing, to relax and re-charge myself.

Round 4, Day 3

Shoulders & Arms, followed by Ab Ripper X

Really felt it in my triceps, residual effect of Monday's workout.

Ab Ripper X is still Ab Ripper X. I would say it is a love/hate relationship, but I don't love it very much.

I re-read some of my early posts on this blog and I realized I need to get back in that mindset. I know the program creates results, I need to remember that when the going gets tough.

Yoga tomorrow, have to get up early for that. See you then!

Round 4, Day 2

Plyometrics - Jump Training

Not as hard as when I did it last week for the first time in a while. I guess my body is adapting. High impact, high calorie burn: over 800, according to my heart monitor!

Round 4, Day 1

Well, I guess it is Round 4, although I did not complete the last round. I have been doing P90X a couple days a week for the past year, with running in between.

Since I am going to Florida in February, I figured now is as good a time as any to start another round of Phil90X.

Day 1 - Chest & Back. I can barely lift my arms to get to the keyboard! Simple push-ups and pull-ups, right? Yeah, simple except when you do over 100 of each...
